How does a beauty salon loyalty program work?

A beauty salon loyalty program gives clients a stamp for every visit or service and a reward after a set number, such as a free blow-dry or a treatment upgrade. The client keeps the card on their phone and shows a QR code at reception; your team scans it from the dashboard and adds the stamp. TapTime includes the card designer, statistics and a refer-a-friend program.

Satisfied clients do not always come back.

Salons rarely lose clients through complaints. More often, clients book elsewhere the next time because nothing encourages them to return.

01

Every visit is a new decision

New salons, promotions and recommendations compete for your clients. Without a reason to return, each booking is decided again.

02

Discounts reduce the value of full price

Seasonal discounts can fill a quiet month, but they also teach clients to wait for the next offer.

03

Referrals go unrewarded

Many new clients come through recommendations from existing ones, yet clients who refer friends usually receive nothing in return.

A stamp per visit, a reward clients value and a thank-you for referrals.

The card is kept on the client's phone, reception scans it, and the statistics show who is returning.

  • A stamp per visit or per service

Give one stamp per appointment, or one per service such as a cut, colour or manicure. You define the rule in the terms; reception adds the stamp with a scan.

  • A reward clients want

Offer a free blow-dry, a free manicure or a treatment upgrade after six or nine visits. You set the number, the title, the description, the terms and an optional expiry.

  • Refer-a-friend program included

A refer-a-friend program is part of the loyalty module, giving clients a reason to recommend your salon.

  • Stored on the client's phone

Clients keep the card on their phone, alongside cards from other TapTime businesses, so it is available when they plan their next appointment.

  • Scanned at reception, no hardware

The client shows the code on their phone, and your receptionist scans it from the dashboard on any phone and taps Add a stamp. No reader or terminal is needed.

  • Loyalty statistics

Stamp and reward statistics per salon show how many clients are collecting, how many are close to a reward and how many rewards were given this month.

Set up your salon loyalty card in three steps.

No hardware, no onboarding call and nothing to print other than the QR code. Reception runs it from the dashboard on a phone.

  1. 1

    Design the card

Add your logo and colours or a gradient, and choose the stamp icon. Set the rule, for example a free blow-dry after nine visits.

  2. 2

Display the QR code at reception

Clients scan it once while paying and the card is saved on their phone, with nothing to install.

  3. 3

Scan at checkout and redeem rewards

At each visit, reception scans the client's code and adds a stamp. When the reward unlocks, tap Redeem and it is logged.

Reception is notified when a client earns a reward

Rewards, new members and visit stamps can be sent to your team chat, ad platforms and CRM. All of it is included with the loyalty card at no extra cost: no add-on, no higher tier and no per-event fee.

  • Google Ads
  • Meta
  • Google Analytics 4

Measure ads by new members

A client's first stamp is reported once to GA4 as sign_up and to Meta as CompleteRegistration, matched by the client's hashed phone number. Sending hashed details can be switched off.

  • Google Chat
  • Discord
  • Mattermost

Earned rewards flagged at reception

The reception chat in Telegram, Slack or Microsoft Teams receives each earned reward and each new member, with the client's name, within seconds, so staff can let the client know before they leave.

  • Zapier
  • Make
  • n8n
  • Pipedream

Client records in HubSpot or Pipedrive

Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream can add each new member to HubSpot or Pipedrive and log every visit stamp on the client's record, with no code. Clients who have stopped visiting are easy to identify.

  • Webhooks
  • REST API

Webhooks and API for your client database

Signed webhooks send each stamp, reward and new member as it happens, and the REST API reads cards and rewards across every salon. Read-only keys are created in the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Do clients need to install an app?

No. The card is kept on their phone. They scan your QR code once at reception and the card is saved, with nothing to install. If they already have a TapTime card from another business, yours appears alongside it.

Can I give a stamp per service instead of per visit?

Yes. A stamp is added each time reception scans the client's code, so you decide what earns one: a visit, a service or a treatment above a certain price. Describe the rule in the card's terms.

What reward works best for a salon?

Choose something clients would book anyway and that costs you little, such as a free blow-dry, a free manicure or a treatment upgrade. You set the number of visits, the title, the description, the terms and an optional expiry, and can change them later.

How does the refer-a-friend program work?

It is part of the loyalty module and included in the subscription. It gives existing clients a reason to recommend your salon and new clients a reason to visit, without printed vouchers to track by hand.

Does it work for a salon with several locations?

Yes. One card works at every salon in your account, staff are scoped to their own location, and the dashboard shows stamps and rewards per salon.

Do I need any hardware at reception?

No. Your receptionist scans the client's code with the TapTime dashboard open on any phone or tablet you already have. There is no reader, no terminal and nothing to install.

What does it cost and is there a contract?

49 € a month per salon, paid monthly by card. No contract, no setup fee and no per-client charge. The first 14 days are free and no card is needed to start.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a short grace period the card is paused and clients see a brief “temporarily unavailable” note on their phone. Nothing is deleted; cards, stamps and statistics are restored when you reactivate the subscription.

Can my beauty salon's loyalty card add clients to HubSpot or Pipedrive?

Yes, through Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream, with no code. TapTime sends each new member, stamp and reward as signed JSON with the client's name, phone and card, and the automation creates or updates the client's record in your CRM.
