How does online booking work for a barbershop?

Online booking gives your barbershop a page where clients choose a service, a barber and one of the free slots from their phone. With TapTime each barber has their own hours and days off on one shared calendar, walk-ins entered at the counter appear in the same list, and the page offers only what is still free. Clients receive a confirmation email and a reminder 24 hours before.

A shared paper book cannot keep up with a team of barbers.

A paper book or a set of messages does not know each barber's hours, days off or which clients asked for a specific barber.

01

Double bookings for the same barber

When several people write in the same book, two clients can be booked with one barber at the same time, and one of them has to wait.

02

Schedule changes are not recorded

Swapped shifts, training days and late starts are often agreed verbally, while the book still shows the barber as available.

03

Barbers cannot see their own day

When the schedule exists only at the counter, barbers have to ask the front desk for their next appointment throughout the day.

One calendar with a column for every barber.

Set hours, days off and buffers for each barber once. The booking page and the counter then work from the same availability.

Individual hours for each barber

Every barber has a photo, a title and their own weekly schedule, including late starts and days off. The page only books within those hours.

Days off for any week

For a holiday, a course or a sick day, override that barber's schedule for the week, and the page stops offering their slots immediately.

A specific barber or anyone available

Clients choose a barber by name, or select anyone available and see slots that are free for any barber. The booking is placed in the right column either way.

Online, phone and walk-in bookings in one list

Walk-ins are entered at the counter in seconds and take the slot. Online and counter bookings appear together, in order, for every barber.

The whole shop in one view

See every chair side by side for the day: who is fully booked, who has a gap and where a walk-in fits.

Each barber sees their own schedule

A barber can be limited to their own schedule and see only their appointments on their phone. The owner and front desk see the whole team.

Frequently asked questions

Can each barber have different hours?

Yes. Every barber has their own weekly schedule, and you can override it for any week for a holiday, a course or a sick day. The page offers only slots within those hours.

Can a regular book the same barber every time?

Yes. The client chooses their barber on the page and sees that barber's free times. Next time they open the same link and can book the same barber again.

What if the client does not mind which barber?

They choose “anyone available” on the page and see the slots that are free for any barber. The booking goes into the column of the barber who is free at that time.

Can I keep taking walk-ins?

Yes. Walk-ins are entered in the calendar at the counter and appear in the same list as online bookings. The page only offers the slots that remain free.

Do clients need an app?

No. The booking page opens from the link in the phone's browser. Barbers and the front desk also use the dashboard in a browser, on any phone or laptop.

How many barbers can I add?

The entry plan at 39 € a month covers up to 3 barbers and 10 services. Up to 7 barbers is 69 €, and a higher tier is available for larger shops.

How do I keep room for walk-ins if the page fills the day?

Set a minimum notice so the next hour or two cannot be booked online, and a booking horizon so the page does not fill weeks ahead. Times the page does not offer remain available for walk-ins, which you can enter in any free slot.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a short grace period the module is paused and the booking page shows a brief “temporarily unavailable” note. Nothing is deleted: your barbers, hours and bookings are restored when you reactivate the subscription.

Can I send my barbers' completed appointments to a spreadsheet?

Yes. Connect Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream from Integrations in TapTime, choose the completed event, and each finished booking is sent as signed JSON that the tool turns into a Google Sheets row. No code is required, and Send test shows the fields first.
