What is a digital loyalty card for a coffee shop?

A digital loyalty card is a stamp card kept on the customer's phone instead of in a wallet. The customer shows a QR code at the till, your barista scans it from the dashboard on any phone, and a stamp is added; after a set number of coffees the reward unlocks. With TapTime you design the card in your own colors and customers keep it on their phone after one scan.

Tuesday, 08:35, at Café Aroma.

One morning with a stamp card that never leaves the customer's phone.

  1. Maria orders her flat white, opens the card on her phone and shows the code. The barista scans it: stamp six of nine, logged as Tuesday 08:35.

  2. A new customer scans the code on the counter and gets her first stamp before the milk is steamed — nothing to install.

  3. The owner opens the dashboard between lunches: forty-one stamps so far today, three cards one coffee away from a reward.

  4. Maria's ninth coffee. The card turns to Reward unlocked, the barista taps Redeem, and the free coffee is logged, not guessed.

The paper card was never really working.

It gets stamps, it gets lost, it gets forged with a pen from the same drawer. And after years of stamping you still could not name your ten best customers.

  1. 1

Half the cards end up in a washing machine

A customer three stamps from a free coffee loses the card and starts again, or does not bother. The habit you were building breaks with the cardboard.

  2. 2

Anyone with the right pen can stamp their own

A card full of suspiciously even stamps. A card that was full last week and is full again today. You give away coffees and never know how many.

  3. 3

You know the faces, not the numbers

Who comes every morning, who stopped coming in March, how many free coffees you gave last month. A stack of cardboard cannot answer any of it.

The card, the till and the numbers, all from the phone you already run the shop on.

Design it once, hand it out with a QR code, stamp it with a scan. Every pain above has a line in the dashboard.

01

On the phone, never in the wash

Customers keep the card on their phone. It cannot be lost, left at home or put through the laundry, and the stamps are still there next Tuesday.

02

A stamp only your till can add

The customer shows their QR code, your barista scans it from the dashboard on any phone and taps Add a stamp. It is logged with the time and the location. No pen, no guesswork.

03

Know your regulars by the numbers

Stamp and reward statistics per location. See how many customers are collecting, how many cards are one coffee from a reward and how many rewards you gave this month.

04

Your colors, your logo, your icon

A card designer with colors or a gradient, your logo, a stamp icon and a reward icon, and fonts. It looks like your shop, not like somebody's software.

05

The reward you decide

Nine stamps by default, or any number you like. A free coffee, a free pastry, a bag of beans. Add a description, the terms and an optional expiry.

06

One card for every counter

Two shops or ten: the same card works at all your locations, staff are scoped to their own counter, and the numbers roll up in one dashboard.

Design it in the morning lull, stamp it at the afternoon rush.

No hardware, no onboarding call, no printing except the QR code. The whole thing runs from the dashboard on a phone.

  1. 01

    Design the card

Pick the colors, upload the logo, choose the stamp icon and the reward. Nine stamps to a free coffee, or your own rule.

  2. 02

Put the QR code by the till

Customers scan it once and the card is theirs — nothing to install. Yours is the first card they hold, or one of several.

  3. 03

    Scan, stamp, reward

At the till the customer shows their code, your barista scans it from the dashboard and taps Add a stamp. On the ninth, tap Redeem.

Every stamp and free coffee on record, in your sheet, your chat and your ads

The paper card told you nothing. Each stamp, new member and reward is now an event you can send anywhere, included with the loyalty card at no extra cost: no add-on, no higher tier, no per-stamp fee.

New members counted as sign-ups

A customer's first stamp is reported once as a sign-up: GA4 sign_up and Meta CompleteRegistration. The Instagram post saying the card is live gets judged by members joined, not by reach.

Only the rewards, not every flat white

Choose what the counter's Telegram group hears: a reward earned or redeemed, a new member. Each arrives in seconds with who and when. The morning rush stays quiet; the ninth coffee does not.

  • Zapier

A ledger of free coffees, no code

Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream add every stamp and redeemed reward to Google Sheets with the time and the location. Your accountant sees exactly how many coffees you gave away this month.

  • Webhooks
  • REST API

Cards and rewards for the small chain

The REST API reads loyalty programs, cards and rewards, plus an event feed of every stamp. Signed webhooks push each one to your own reporting, from every counter you run.

One flat price. Unlimited cards, unlimited stamps.

119 ₾ a month per location. The card designer, the card on the customer's phone, scanning at the till, statistics, promo codes, gift cards and the refer-a-friend program are all included. No hardware to buy, no per-stamp fees.

Running several coffee shops? One card works at every counter, and each location has its own 119 ₾ subscription managed from the same dashboard. Add a QR menu, table reservations or appointments later; they are switched on separately.

Built for every place that pours coffee.

Questions coffee shop owners ask before dropping the paper card.

Do customers need to install an app?

No. The card lives on their phone. They scan your QR code once and it is theirs — nothing to install. If they already use TapTime at another café, your card simply appears next to the others.

How does my barista add a stamp?

The customer shows the QR code on their phone, the barista scans it with the dashboard open on any phone and taps Add a stamp. No scanner, no card reader, no new hardware at the till.

Can I choose how many stamps make a reward?

Yes. Nine is the default, and you can set any number, name the reward, write the terms and add an expiry if you want one. Change it later and every card updates.

What if a customer loses their phone or gets a new one?

The card belongs to their TapTime account, not to the handset. They sign in on the new phone and the stamps are exactly where they were.

Can stamps still be forged or handed out to friends?

A customer cannot stamp their own card: every stamp is a scan from your dashboard, and every stamp and reward is logged and counted per location. You see exactly how many you gave out instead of wondering.

How long does it take to set up?

Most coffee shops design the card and put the QR code on the counter in under half an hour. There is no onboarding call and nothing to print except the code.

What does it cost and is there a contract?

119 ₾ a month per location, paid monthly by card. No contract, no setup fee, no per-stamp charge. The first 14 days are free and you do not enter a card to start.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a short grace period the card is paused and shows a brief “temporarily unavailable” note on the customer's phone. Nothing is deleted: cards, stamps and statistics wait for you, and switching it back on brings everything back.

Can I send my coffee shop's loyalty stamps to Google Sheets automatically?

Yes. Connect Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream under Integrations, press Send test and map the fields to a sheet. From then on TapTime sends every stamp, new member and reward as it happens, with the customer, time and location, and retries any delivery that fails.
