Breakfast until eleven
A category can carry an availability window — a start and an end time. Outside it the category is simply not shown, so the breakfast section disappears at 11:00 and comes back tomorrow without anyone touching it.
- Use it for breakfast, lunch specials and a late-night menu.
- The window is read in the location's own timezone.
- A guest who scans at 11:05 sees the day menu, with no mention of what they missed.
Seasonal sections
For something that comes back every year, hide the category rather than deleting it. Everything inside — names, prices, translations, photos — waits exactly as you left it, and next summer is one toggle.
Changing prices
A price change reaches guests the moment you publish, on every code you have ever printed. This is the one operational advantage of a QR menu that no printed menu can answer, so use it: keep the prices true rather than approximately true.

It greys out and cannot be ordered. Guests find that more trustworthy than a dish that quietly vanishes — and it stops them asking for it.
Can a single item have its own time window?
Windows are set per category today. For one item, the usual answer is a small category of its own — “Lunch special”, for instance.
Do I have to remember to switch items back on?
Yes — availability is a manual toggle, so it says what you last said. Making it part of the opening routine takes about ten seconds.
