The QR menu can be a menu, or it can be a menu that takes the order. Which of the two it is is a single setting, and it should be a deliberate decision about how your room works.
Turning ordering on

With it off, the menu is read-only: no basket, no add button, nothing for a guest to press. With it on, every available item gets a plus, the basket appears, and an order can be sent.
Which table it came from
An order needs to know where to go. That is what the per-table codes are for: a guest who scanned the code on table seven sends an order that says table seven. A guest who scanned the general code at the door is asked which table they are at.
Where the order arrives
- On the orders screen in the panel, live, in the order they were sent.
- On the kitchen screen, if you run one, as a ticket per order.
- As a notification to whoever you have set to receive them.
Paying
Guests can pay at the table if you have connected a payment provider; otherwise the order arrives unpaid and is settled the way it always was. Both are normal — plenty of venues take the order digitally and the money at the till.

Can I switch ordering on for one location only?
Yes. The setting belongs to the menu, and each location has its own.
Can guests tip?
When you take payment through a connected provider, yes. On an unpaid order the tip happens at the till, as before.
What stops someone ordering forty coffees as a joke?
Practically, the same thing that stops them shouting it across the room — the order arrives at your screen, and you accept it or you do not. Nothing is charged until you take payment.
