Until you open the builder, your page is the menu and nothing else, and that is a perfectly good page. The builder is for the venues that want more than the food on the first screen: the room, a line about who you are, a gallery, the way to find you.

Your home page
The first entry in the page list is the home page — where a guest arrives when they scan your code or open your link. You build it out of sections, and one of those sections is your menu itself: “Menu / booking”, which you drag up or down like any other.
- Put the menu first and a guest sees the food immediately — the right choice for a busy café.
- Put two or three sections above it and they meet the room first — the right choice for a restaurant people choose an evening for.
- Leave the menu section out altogether and it still goes last. Losing your menu because a section was deleted would be far worse than a menu in the wrong place.
The sections you can stack
| Section | What it is |
|---|---|
| Heading | A small label, a headline and a line under it. |
| Text | Paragraphs, in one column or two. |
| Photo & text | A picture on one side, words and a button on the other. |
| Photo | One picture, as wide as you like. |
| Video | YouTube, Vimeo or your own file. |
| Gallery | A grid of photos, two to five across. |
| Link tiles | Tiles with a photo and a label — Menu, Interior, Events. |
| Buttons | One or more calls to action. |
| Quote | A line worth pulling out, and who said it. |
| Figures | Numbers worth boasting about, in a row. |
| Questions | Questions guests ask, with answers that open. |
| Map | Where you are, centred on the location's address. |
| Opening hours | The week, straight from your branch settings, so it is never out of date. |
| Contact | Address, phone and your social links. |
| Divider | A rule, or simply some space. |
Give a section its look
Every section has the same six appearance settings, whatever it contains. That is deliberate: fifteen different sections with one vocabulary still read as one page.
- Background — Page, Card, Tinted, Your colour or Dark.
- Width — Narrow, Normal, Wide or Edge to edge. Normal lines up exactly with the menu below it.
- Spacing — how much air the section keeps around itself.
- Alignment — left or centred.
- Entrance — how the section arrives as a guest scrolls to it: fade, rise or zoom.
- Photo effect — what a picture does under the pointer.
Pages beside the home page
-
1
New page
“About us”, “Events”, “The terrace”. It is created unpublished, so nobody sees it while you write.
-
2
Name and address
The address is the last part of the link — yourname.tapti.me/p/about-us. It is taken from the title, and you can change it.
-
3
Build it from sections
The same fifteen sections, minus the menu anchor: that one belongs to the home page alone.
-
4
Publish
Published pages are listed on your guest page under More. Unpublished ones stay visible only to you, through Preview.
Writing in more than one language
“Writing in” at the top of the editor decides which language the text you type is saved for. Switch it, and the same fields come back empty for the next language. The languages on offer are the ones your site already speaks — your menu's and your company's.
Saving, preview and the limits
- Creating, renaming, reordering, publishing and deleting a page happen immediately — each is one deliberate act.
- The sections themselves are a draft until you press Save. Leaving with unsaved sections asks first.
- Preview opens the page as a guest will see it, published or not.
- A page holds up to 40 sections, a section up to 24 items, and a business up to 30 pages.
Frequently asked
Do I have to use the builder?
No. A business that never opens it keeps exactly the page it had: guests scan the code and land straight on the menu, as before.
Is this a separate website with its own domain?
No. It builds the pages of your TapTime venue page, at your own address — yourname.tapti.me — with the menu, bookings and loyalty already on it.
Can each location have its own pages?
Pages belong to the business, so a chain tells one story about itself. The hours, the map and the cover still follow whichever location the guest opened.
