The Kazakh and Kyrgyz markets share providers, but not merchant accounts: each has its own licensed entity, and you sign up with the one in the country your business is registered in.

Halyk Bank ePay

Kazakhstan's largest acquirer. OAuth client credentials plus the terminal the payment is registered against.

  1. 1
Ask Halyk for the ePay e-commerce product

They issue a terminal and credentials for their merchant portal.

  2. 2
Find the client id and secret

Issued for API access to ePay, alongside the terminal number.

  3. 3
    Note the terminal id

A payment is registered against a terminal, so this must be the one for this venue.

Notifications

CloudPayments and Freedom Pay both confirm payments by calling back. Paste our callback address into the notifications section of their cabinet — for CloudPayments this is the pay and fail notification settings on the site.

Frequently asked

Which provider do Kazakh guests expect?

Cards are near-universal, so any of the three is familiar. Halyk is the most recognized name; the others are usually chosen on rate.

Can one merchant account serve both countries?

No. Acquiring is licensed per country, so a business operating in both needs an account in each.

Is a Kyrgyz merchant account hard to obtain?

Freedom Pay and CloudPayments both onboard small businesses directly, which is usually the quicker route.
