Georgia has the widest spread of styles of any of our markets — from a self-serve API key to a bank certificate. Pick by which merchant contract you can actually get.
TBC Checkout
TBC issues an API key for the checkout product plus an OAuth client pair used to obtain a short-lived token for each payment.
-
1
Ask TBC for the e-commerce package
They register your merchant and give you access to their developer portal.
-
2
Create an application in the portal
This produces the client id and client secret.
-
3
Copy the API key from the same place
It identifies the checkout product for your merchant.
| Field in TapTime | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| API key | The checkout product in your TBC developer portal. Secret. |
| Client ID | The application you created. |
| Client secret | Issued with it. Secret. |
Bank of Georgia
A straightforward OAuth client-credentials setup, with an optional public key you can paste so we can verify the signature on their callbacks.
| Field in TapTime | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Client ID | The application in the BOG merchant portal. |
| Client secret | Issued with it. Secret. |
| Callback public key (PEM) | Optional. Published by the bank; paste it if you have it. |
Payze
An independent provider with a self-serve dashboard — usually the fastest way to start taking cards in Georgia.
| Field in TapTime | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| API key | The API section of your Payze dashboard. |
| API secret | Issued with it. Secret. |
Credo Bank
Credo acquires through the UPC gateway: a client certificate, a private key and the host the bank issues you.
| Field in TapTime | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Gateway host | On the bank's onboarding sheet. Hostname only, without https://. |
| Client certificate (PEM) | The certificate the bank issued. |
| Private key (PEM) | The key issued with it. Secret. |
| Key passphrase | If the bank set one. |
TeraBank
The same gateway and the same four fields as Credo, with TeraBank's own host and certificate.
Frequently asked
Which is quickest to get running?
Payze, in most cases — it is self-serve. The banks give better rates at volume but take longer to onboard.
Can I take Georgian lari and dollars?
That depends on your merchant contract, not on TapTime. Ask your provider which currencies your account is enabled for.
The bank sent me a .pfx file.
That is a certificate and key bundled together. Ask them for the PEM form, or convert it — but do not paste the binary file into the form.
