What is a QR menu for restaurants?

A QR menu is a digital menu guests open by pointing their phone camera at a QR code on the table. Nothing to install. With TapTime it also takes the order and the card payment, shows the menu in several languages, and updates on every table the moment you change a price or mark a dish sold out.

On a full night the waiter is the bottleneck.

Every order and every bill waits for the same three people. That is where the second round of drinks, the dessert and the tip quietly disappear.

01

Guests wait to order, then wait to pay

A table that cannot catch a waiter orders less and leaves later. The seats you turn twice a night could turn three times.

02

Paper menus go out of date the day you print them

A price change means a reprint. The sea bass that ran out at nine is still on page two at ten. The tourists at table six cannot read any of it.

03

You have no idea what actually sells

The specials board is a guess. Which dishes get looked at and never ordered, which ones sell out first, which language your guests read in — paper does not tell you.

Everything the table needs, on the guest's own phone.

Switch ordering on or leave it off and use it as a menu only. Either way the menu is always current and always in the guest's language.

Order and pay from the table

Guests add dishes to a basket, pay by card on the phone and can leave a tip for the team. The order lands in your dashboard the second it is placed.

Every language your guests speak

Publish the menu in as many languages as you need. The guest's phone opens the right one automatically; the QR code stays the same.

Change a price, every table sees it

Edit a dish in the dashboard and save. Every phone in the room shows the new price. No reprint, no crossed-out numbers.

Sold out in one tap

When the kitchen runs out, mark the dish unavailable and it disappears from every menu. Bring it back the same way.

Combos, offers and happy hours

Lunch sets, two-for-one cocktails, a breakfast menu that shows only until eleven. Time windows and bundles are built in.

Printed QR cards with wooden stands

Order sturdy printed cards and wooden stands for the tables from the dashboard where we ship — Bulgaria, Albania, Moldova, Serbia and Montenegro — or download the code and print it yourself. Photos, allergens and calories on every dish.

A waiter taking an order at the table while the guest looks up from the menu

Set it up over lunch, use it at dinner.

No onboarding call, no setup fee, no hardware. Most restaurants publish their first menu in a quarter of an hour.

Friday, 20:10, at Café Aroma.

How one evening looks when the menu takes the orders.

  1. Table six scans the code and orders two starters and a bottle of wine before a waiter has reached them.

  2. The kitchen runs out of sea bass. One tap in the dashboard and it is gone from every phone in the room.

  3. Four tourists open the same code and read the menu in German. Nobody has to translate a single dish.

  4. Table six pays from the phone, adds a tip for the team and leaves. Nobody brought a card machine to the table.

Every table order reported to your ads and pinged to the floor team's chat

When table six orders from the QR code, Google Ads, Meta and your team chat hear about it. It all comes with the QR menu at no extra cost: no add-on, no higher tier, no fee per order sent.

How conversions, webhooks and the API work
  • Google Ads
  • Meta
  • Google Analytics 4

Orders reported as purchases, dishes included

Each order from a table's QR code, takeaway or delivery goes once to GA4 as a purchase with its dishes, to Meta as a Purchase and to Google Ads. The value is the food and drink, not the tip.

  • Mattermost

The floor hears a new order in seconds

New and paid orders land in Telegram, Slack or Microsoft Teams as a short message with the dishes, the total and a link to the dashboard. The manager on the pass sees the Friday rush arrive without refreshing a screen.

  • Zapier
  • Make
  • n8n
  • Pipedream

What actually sells, in a sheet, no code

Connect Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream with no code and every paid order drops into Google Sheets with its dishes and total. By Monday you know which starters sell and which sit on page two.

  • Webhooks
  • REST API

Orders and totals for your own reporting

Signed webhooks push each order the second it is placed. The REST API lists orders with their lines and totals, filtered by status, takeaway or delivery and date, for a group dashboard or your accountant.

One flat price. Unlimited dishes, unlimited scans.

49 ₾ a month per location. Ordering, card payments, tips, languages, photos and themes are all included. TapTime takes no share of your orders; you pay the subscription and your card provider's own fee, nothing else.

Running several locations? Each one gets its own menu and its own 49 ₾ subscription, managed from the same dashboard. Add table reservations, a loyalty card or appointments later; they are switched on separately.

Questions restaurant owners ask before switching.

Do guests need to install an app?

No. The menu opens in the phone's browser as soon as the camera reads the QR code. It works on any iPhone or Android phone with no download and no account.

Can I use it as a menu only, without online ordering?

Yes. Ordering is a switch in the settings. Many restaurants start with a read-only menu and turn ordering on for the terrace or the busy nights later.

Where does the money go when a guest pays from the phone?

Straight to your own payment provider account, which you connect in the dashboard. TapTime never holds your money and takes no commission on orders.

How long does it take to create the menu?

Most restaurants have their first menu live in about fifteen minutes: create the categories, add the dishes with prices and photos, download the QR code. You can refine it any time afterwards.

How many languages can the menu have?

As many as you need. You add the translations for each dish in the dashboard, and the guest's phone opens the menu in its own language from the same QR code.

Do I need new tables, tablets or any hardware?

No. The QR code goes on a printed card, a sticker or the existing menu holder. Guests use their own phones; you use the dashboard on any laptop or phone.

What does it cost and is there a contract?

49 ₾ a month per location, paid monthly by card. There is no contract and no setup fee. The first 14 days are free and you do not enter a card to start.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a short grace period the menu is paused and shows guests a brief “temporarily unavailable” note. Nothing is deleted. Switch it back on and everything is exactly where you left it.

Does TapTime send restaurant QR orders to Google Analytics and Google Ads?

Yes, when ordering is switched on. TapTime sends each guest order once, as a GA4 purchase with its items, a Meta Purchase and a Google Ads conversion, valued without the tip. Sales your waiters ring up themselves are never reported, so the ads are judged only by what guests ordered from the menu.
